Things that happen in life don’t have a fixed meaning. We are the ones who give them meaning, whether positive or negative. The real question is: why do we so quickly give a negative meaning to what we experience?
But what if…
The traffic you’re in is actually preventing an accident. That debt you have is pushing you to expand your potential. That situation you’re going through helped you connect with key people. Or maybe that breakup gave you back your self-love.
I know that sometimes it’s hard to see things differently, but let’s allow rewards, opportunities, and redirections to enter our lives. These are things we could never experience if we immediately label everything as negative and cut the energy behind it.
Let’s not confuse this with not allowing ourselves to feel what these situations bring. Feeling emotions is part of being human. But being human also gives us the ability to transform those emotions and give them a new meaning.
And that meaning is yours to choose.
Giving a negative meaning right away also shows us how our mind is programmed. Its system is designed to stay alert to anything we don’t fully control. That’s why it’s important to observe ourselves when we judge a situation too quickly, because that judgment might be blocking surprises that could help us create more in our lives.
